Saw something yesterday on the news that I thought would be interesting to the class...it discussed couples and relationships and whether or not meeting someone online and having an "intimate" relationship with them meant you were cheating on your "real life" partner. I've often thought of this when I've heard the bizarre stories of people leaving their spouse for someone they met on the internet...it just seems odd to me and personally I don't think it necessarily falls under the terms of cheating, but it may be saying something along the lines of maybe you are looking for something you can not find in your partner...it's just a really hazy line and yet one that is becoming more and more defined as it becomes more the norm. Wierd...very wierd.

I think that the people who facilitated our class discussion today brought up some interesting issues that I myself had not thought of while doing the reading. The idea of a community is such an ambigous and obscure idea that it is near impossible to come up with an exact definitin and be able to apply it to all cases. I completely agree with the point that was made that the one thing we can hold true to all communities is the fact that they are all somehow connected. This seems to be the only thing that can withstand the test every time.
